An economically empowered community is basically our aspiration. KAFOC conducts households
assessment to understand the different levels where the households are at whether they are destitute,
struggling or growing. Data analysis is conducted and those that are fit to engage in business are then
trained. We train households in financial literacy, entrepreneurship management, record keeping,
saving, customer care and business planning among others. This is aimed at equipping households with
basic knowledge and skills on Micro Enterprise Development. We engage different stakeholders like
from KCCA, Kira Municipality and other partners to conduct these trainings. The caregivers/parents that
would have completed the training and developed the business plans are the supported with Income
Generating activities of their choice to boost the household income. The main aim of this intervention is
to support households to fish for themselves and be able to provide the basic needs of their household
members.
